Description
Sliang is a remote and offbeat destination, accessible by boat and trek from the nearby village of Shnongpdeng, Dawki. The trek through the jungle is considered as a moderate hike, but it offers visitors the opportunity to see the beautiful natural surroundings of the area. Another access to Sliang which is bit more challenging is the steep trek from the Amkoi village. This trek is not recommended for those who have difficulty with steep terrain.
Sliang is known for its natural beauty, and the large white and grey boulders along the Umngot river are certainly impressive and it’s a popular spot for swimming, cliff jumping and fishing. The boulders can be found along the banks of the Umngot River, and they are often used as a natural backdrop for photography. The fresh water is also very refreshing, especially after the moderate trek from Shnongpdeng village. The combination of natural beauty and refreshing water make Sliang a popular destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
if you are willing to push your trek a bit further, you will be able to see the beautiful Nongtlui which is known for its crystal-clear water.
It’s also important to be respectful of the local customs and environment, and to take care not to leave any trash behind and to avoid disturbing the wildlife.
