Description
Trekking to the Blue Lagoon in Nongriat is likely to be a challenging and physically demanding experience, but also very rewarding. The trek typically involves to go down 3000 steps from Tyrna, walk over rocky terrain, and across several hanging bridges and a few War-Khasi villages. The reward is the beauty of the waterfall and the natural swimming pool known as the Umshong blue Lagoon. It is a great opportunity to enjoy nature and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
On the way you will pass through the Double decker living roots bridge, and if you push a bit further you will reach the Rainbow Falls, two must-visit places.
The Blue Lagoon is a popular tourist destination, but it remains relatively unknown, which makes it less crowded than other similar tourist spots. It is also a great opportunity to visit a remote area and experience the local culture and way of life. Recently, swimming is only allowed with a life jacket provided on the spot.
